Links | Government Funding Programs The federal government has a number of programs
designed to accelerate the research, development, and commercialization
of leading-edge technologies and technological breakthroughs.
These are developed through the Small Business Administration
(SBA) with the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR)
and Small Business Tech Transfer (STTR) Programs, and through
the National Institute of Science and Technology (NIST)
with the Advanced Technology Program (ATP).

Space Alliance Technology Outreach Project
National
Institutes of Health CRISP Database--
the CRISP (Computer Retrieval of Information on Scientific
Projects) database is available for searching for a wealth
of info on scientific concepts, emerging trends and techniques,
and scientific projects or investigators. CRISP is a searchable
database of federally funded biomedical research projects
conducted at universities, hospitals, and other research
institutions.
NIH
Licensing Technology-- NIH
seeks licenses and/or CRADA partners to further develop
and commercialize innovative, fundamental NIH/FDA intramural
research discoveries. Click on the link above for more info
on the NIH licensing program. An NIH CRADA is generally
a multi-year agreement on significant medical R&D.
Government
Grants Database
There is a Web site designed for
easy research on the government grants. Notices of Funding
Availability (NOFA) are now in a database designed to allow
expedient access in looking up grants by Department, topic,
or date. The listings are brief, but include contact information
and a link to the fuller NOFA on the appropriate Department's
web site.
Center
for Technology Commercialization--
CTC serves as NASA's Northeast Regional Technology Transfer
Center (RTTC), covering the six New England States plus
New York and New Jersey. A non-profit company with seven
satellite offices, CTC acts as a gateway for the transfer
of NASA and other federal technology to private industry.
CTC is one of six RTTCs comprising a nationwide network
devoted to the common mission of assisting American industry
to improve its worldwide competitiveness through the acquisition
and commercialization of new technologies.

Space
Alliance Technology Outreach Program (SATOP) -- a cooperative
program
between the states of Florida, New Mexico, New York, and
Texas. The SATOP is a FREE service designed to provide engineering
assistance and speed the transfer of space technology to
the private sector. By giving free technological assistance
to small businesses, SATOP helps them solve their challenges
and increase their chances of succeeding.
